It is understood that from January to May this year, the city has inspected 4.862 million vehicles, and the total concentration of pollutants discharged from the exhaust gas exceeded the standard by a total of 1,647,400 yuan.
Since the official implementation of the Beijing Municipal Air Pollution Regulations in March, the municipal environmental protection department has further strengthened the supervision and enforcement of motor vehicle emissions. In the process of inspecting the vehicle, the municipal environmental protection department, through telemetry and other technologies, will be punished if it finds that the concentration of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and other pollutants in the exhaust gas discharged from the road vehicle exceeds the local standards in Beijing. As of May this year, the city has investigated and dealt with 6,666 vehicles exceeding the standard, of which diesel vehicles accounted for 5% of the total number of motor vehicles examined, and the over-standard rate reached 50%. The Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau said that although the current large-size trucks account for only 5% of the 5.43 million vehicles in Beijing, its nitrogen oxide emissions are as high as 50% of the vehicle's sewage discharge, and it is necessary to increase the supervision of large trucks.
In addition, the Law Enforcement Inspection Team of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress also went to the gas station for on-site inspection. Feng Yuqiao, director of the Municipal Motor Vehicle Emission Management Center, told the Law Enforcement Inspection Team that the current inspection rate of gas stations in the city has reached more than 85%, and oil and gas recovery devices have been installed. By collecting and reusing oil and gas, it can reduce more than 30,000 per year. The tons of waste gas are discharged to the atmosphere, saving 200 million yuan.
