At present, the energy-saving and emission reduction of synthetic ammonia has entered a crucial period. It is necessary to accelerate the elimination of outdated production capacity, increase the promotion of energy-saving technologies, and strengthen corporate management in order to realize the planning goals on time.

Li Shousheng, executive vice president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and chairman of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, said that the energy saving and consumption reduction of synthetic ammonia has always been one of the major tasks of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association. With the efforts of the National Nitrogen Fertilizer Association, the strict requirements of various local governments, and the continuous improvement of the enterprises themselves, the synthetic ammonia industry in China has formed an atmosphere of active energy-saving and emission reduction, and a number of energy-saving advanced enterprises represented by leaders in energy efficiency have emerged. . However, as a typical representative of high-energy-consuming industries, the goal of the “12th Five-Year Plan” for achieving energy-saving and emission reduction in the ammonia industry is still very difficult.

Li Shousheng stressed that the technical transformation and management of energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies is an important task that every nitrogen fertilizer company cannot relax. At present, the gap in the level of energy consumption of nitrogen fertilizer companies is still very large. As long as they are seriously grasped, the potential is very great. Take 2011 nitrogenous energy efficiency leader for example: The best ammonia synthesis enterprise with anthracite as raw material is Henan Xinlianxin Chemical Fertilizer Co., Ltd. The comprehensive energy consumption per ton of ammonia is 1118 kg standard coal, and the industry average is 1348 kg standard coal. The worst company is 1832 kg standard coal, which is 64% higher than that of the leading company. The best ammonia synthesis enterprise that uses bituminous coal (including brown coal) as raw material is Jiangsu Linggu Chemical Co., Ltd., and the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of ammonia is 1,554 kg. Coal, and the worst company is 2223 kg of standard coal, 43% higher than that of the leader company; the best ammonia synthesis enterprise with natural gas as raw material is Chongqing Jianfeng Industry Group Co., Ltd., and the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of ammonia is 1024 kg. Coal, the industry average of 1259 kg of standard coal, the worst company is 1665 kg of standard coal, 63% higher than the leader.

“If all companies have reached the industry average energy consumption level, they will get a lot of profit; if one-third of the companies have reached the leading level, they can get a very substantial return. With regard to environmental benefits and the height of building beautiful China, the significance of this work is even more significant," said Li Shousheng.

Eliminating outdated production capacity is considered to be an important measure for energy saving and emission reduction of synthetic ammonia. However, in the current industry, there are situations in which it is not possible to retreat or to think about it, and the scale of construction is getting bigger and larger, and the contradiction between repeated construction is increasing. . According to the statistics of the Nitrogen Fertilizer Association, by the end of 2012, China's ammonia production capacity will be 67.3 million tons, and the output will reach 57.5 million tons. In 2013, 13 new synthetic ammonia and urea projects will be put into production in China, adding a total of 4.06 million tons of newly-added synthetic ammonia and 6.86 million tons of urea. At present, the excess capacity of urea is approximately 18 million tons, and the severe situation of energy saving and emission reduction in the ammonia industry can be seen.

When talking about the development of the entire nitrogen fertilizer industry, Li Shousheng pointed out in particular that from the perspective of the entire industry, there is still a certain amount of backward production capacity to be eliminated in terms of production scale, equipment level, resource consumption, and environmental protection. To encourage large-scale enterprises to merge and reorganize disadvantaged enterprises, it is also possible to explore the capacity replacement policy of “advanced elimination of advanced technologies” based on regions. As soon as possible according to the laws of the market economy, establish a normal withdrawal mechanism for backward production capacity, in particular to explore the establishment of "euthanasia" exit mechanism in line with the development of a harmonious society. It is also understood that the "Ammonia Industry Access Requirements" is expected to be announced at the end of this year. The access conditions clearly stipulate the elimination of backward production capacity and the strict approval of new construction projects. It is proposed that no new ammonia plant be built in principle.

Advanced energy-saving technology is a magic weapon for many companies to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction. The Nitrogen Fertilizer Association believes that in order to further promote energy conservation and emission reduction in the ammonia industry and even in the nitrogen fertilizer industry, research and development of related energy conservation technologies should be intensified. For example, an efficient, energy-saving process technology centered on CO isothermal shift reactors, cryogenic denitrification and purification Technology, to adapt to high pressure, high steam-to-gas ratio, wide temperature zone shift catalysts, promote the industrialization of low-temperature, high-activity rhenium catalysts, and promote the application process. Focusing on structural adjustment and energy conservation and emission reduction, the N-fertilizer Association will also focus its efforts on the investigation of typical cases of advanced energy consumption in 2013.

In addition, the synthetic ammonia production enterprises should also pay attention to improving the level of energy management, establish and improve the energy conservation system, and strengthen related personnel training. As long as various measures are promoted in a coordinated manner, the “12th Five-Year Plan” energy-saving and consumption-reduction targets of the ammonia industry can be realized.
