Recent updates from the relevant authorities reveal that the expansion project at Dongying Port in Shandong has reached 80% completion, marking a major milestone in the region’s maritime infrastructure development. The project has set several national records, particularly in terms of investment and the construction of trestle bridges. Dongying Port's total investment amounts to 1.7 billion yuan, with one of the key highlights being the construction of a 7,020-meter-long bridge—the longest of its kind in the country. This project also introduced several firsts, including the use of large-diameter pipe piles in northern China, integrated construction methods, and the implementation of waveboard technology. These innovations have provided valuable experience for building seaports in muddy and challenging coastal environments. The project is divided into three phases. The first phase includes two 30,000-ton general-purpose berths, while the second phase adds two 5,000-ton berths. The third phase will see the construction of two 10,000-ton berths, significantly boosting the port's capacity and efficiency.
