In Chongqing, the auto parts industry has shown strong growth in the first half of the year, with a steady increase in sales value and local production. The city's automotive and motorcycle parts manufacturing reached 25.5 billion yuan, driven by major companies such as Changan, Changan Suzuki, Changan Ford Mazda, Qingling, CNHTC, Lifan Motors, and Luan Cars. These seven key manufacturers contributed over 9 billion yuan in local supporting value, highlighting their significant role in the regional supply chain. The output value of auto parts alone reached 12.2 billion yuan, reflecting a 36% year-on-year growth. This accounted for 55% of the annual target of 22 billion yuan. Meanwhile, motorcycle parts and components generated 13.3 billion yuan, up 25% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the growth in auto parts outpaced that of motorcycle parts by 11 percentage points. Additionally, the value of new auto and motorcycle parts products reached 3.95 billion yuan, with a 37% increase year-on-year. Specifically, new auto parts contributed 2.5 billion yuan, up 32%, while new motorcycle parts reached 1.44 billion yuan, growing by 47%. Among the seven major vehicle companies, the average local matching rate stood at 50%, up from 47.2% in 2006—an increase of 2.8 percentage points. For instance, Hongyan Heavy Truck had a matching rate of 40%, with an added value exceeding 300 million yuan. Changan Ford Mazda alone contributed 200 million yuan in added value. In the first half of the year, 12 new local suppliers joined the industry, and 20 new products were introduced, further strengthening the sector's innovation and competitiveness.
