This makes batteries and supercapacitors very durable. This paper supercapacitor can withstand 40,000 cycles of charge and discharge, better than lithium batteries of the same order.

At the same time, they can also be widely used in electric cars or hybrid cars due to their ability to quickly deliver electricity, and paper supercapacitors have an advantage in applications to cars because of their supercharged skin effect. In addition, these paper batteries can be used as decorative paintings to hang on the walls to provide electrical power.

It cannot be overlooked that the disadvantage of the new paper battery is its high resistance and high cost. Research data shows that the resistance of this battery is 10 times or more that of a conventional battery using a metal foil as a current carrier, which slows down the transmission of current. Another major reason that affects the promotion of these inventions is the current high price of carbon nanotubes.

According to Cui Yi's prediction, the best application of paper batteries is to use large-scale power storage devices in distributed power networks, such as storing wind and solar power. Yang Peidong, professor of chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, said when talking about the technology: "This technology has the potential to be commercialized in a short period of time.
