When talking about the national image, some of the contents cannot be ignored. That is the national industrial image.

Under the global economic competition and cooperation environment, competition in the economic and industrial fields has become an important area of ​​competition among countries, and the industrial image has become an important part of the national image and an important support. What is the national industrial image? From a country's enterprises, especially exporting companies, from one-piece export goods, from their quality and after-sales service.

When it comes to a country's industry, the US industry will be associated with innovation, the Japanese industry will be associated with excellence, the German industry will make people think of rigor and perfectionism, which have become a vivid interpretation of its national industrial image.

What will people think of when talking about China's industrial image?

In the past 30 years, China’s economy has achieved a leap-forward development. “China’s speed” is well-known throughout the world, and China has become the world’s largest exporting country. However, “Made in China” still shrouds the low-end, cheap, and low-quality haze in the international market. The “three low” extensive economic model of low-end manufacturing, low-cost competition, and low-value-added exports has become synonymous with many Chinese in the eyes of foreigners.

Such an industrial image is not only unfavorable to the competition in the economic field, but also has an impact on the spread of China's cultural soft power.

Undoubtedly, manufacturing industry occupies an important position in the Chinese economy. It has created about one-third of gross domestic product (GDP). As China is still in the process of urbanization and industrialization, it can foresee the next 10 to 20 years. Manufacturing will remain one of the pillars of the Chinese economy. How this pillar can enhance the image and match China’s rapidly rising economic strength and overall national strength has become an important issue that needs urgent attention.

Can learn from Japan. Japan was also a "low-end factory in the world," but after the 1970s, Japan's low-end manufacturing industry began to shift outward. A number of high-end brands such as Sony and Toyota in Japan began to rise, and the industrial image was gradually upgraded.

Today, China has also reached the point of breaking through this bottleneck and upgrading the country’s industrial image.

Enhancing scientific and technological R&D and independent innovation capabilities, and mastering core key technologies are the key to enhancing the industrial competitiveness and industrial image of a country. As the main body of scientific and technological innovation, enterprises should abandon immediate interests, focus on the long-term, take the world advanced level as the direction, strengthen the research and development of core technologies, accelerate the industrialization of high and new technology, improve product quality, strive for quality, and win with the brand. According to the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” outline of China, the support policy for science and technology innovation will be strengthened and the investment in financial science and technology funds will be maintained. This will also provide a good external environment for this.

Improving the quality and service level of products, especially export products, is a top priority. On the one hand, export enterprises, especially a large number of SMEs, need to improve their awareness. As the main force of “Made in China”, perhaps the need is to know only a pair of shoes and a flashlight. After they go abroad, they not only realize the profits of the company. It also shapes the country’s industrial image. At the same time, the government also needs to strengthen service and supervision. To this end, eight departments including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Agriculture have jointly launched the “Year of Foreign Trade Product Quality Improvement” campaign this year.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen brand building and change the image of the "factory", from behind the world-famous brands to the front desk. It should be noted that enterprises are the main body of the national industrial image, and brand-name companies that can stand at the front desk of the international market and participate in global competition are among the leading companies. At present, China has a number of enterprises, such as Huawei, Gree, and Lenovo, which have begun to become the protagonists on the global economic stage. In the future, it is necessary to continue to build a batch of independent international famous brands to provide overall brand support for the global distribution of Chinese industries.
