On the morning of January 15, Yuchai once again laid the groundwork for the third phase of the 6M series heavy-duty diesel engine block machining production line. This marks a significant milestone in Yuchai's journey to achieve its 2008 strategic objectives. Since 2003, the company has successfully completed the first and second major engineering projects, establishing some of the most advanced processing and testing lines for heavy-duty diesel engines in China. The 6M diesel engine has been widely used across various applications, including heavy-duty road tractors, trucks, construction equipment such as concrete mixers, and even marine and power generation sectors. By 2007, Yuchai had achieved a production and sales volume of 20,000 units of the 6M diesel engine, with exports reaching countries like Russia and Vietnam. This strong market presence highlights the growing demand for Yuchai's high-performance engines. The newly launched third phase of the 6M cylinder block machining line represents a major investment of 145 million yuan. Spanning an area of 8,892 square meters, the facility is located within the Yuchai branch’s production plant area, adjacent to the heavy machinery installation and testing site. Expected to be fully operational by December 2008, this phase will introduce a high-performance, high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable production line that aligns with global standards. It will significantly enhance Yuchai's production capacity for the 6M series, better meeting the needs of expanding markets and supporting the company's long-term strategic growth. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Jin Xiangjun of Yulin emphasized the city's commitment to creating a more favorable business environment and offering improved services to support Yuchai's development. He highlighted the importance of implementing the "Decision on Implementing the Strategy of Strong Chai Xingyu" to help Yuchai grow stronger and drive the city's rapid and sustainable economic development. This new production line is not only a step forward for Yuchai but also a key driver for Yulin's industrial progress.
