Research Status of Maifan Stone at Home and Abroad

Maifan Stone is a kind of mineral stone used for health care. It is named because it looks like a rice ball. In the Ming Dynasty's great medical practitioner Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica" (1593), the medical stone is "sweet, warm, and non-toxic", and he is in charge of "all pains and sorrows."
In modern times, Maifan Stone was passed abroad. In Japan, Maifan Stone is called “healthy stone”, and South Korea is called “mineral medicine stone”. It is called “longevity stone” in Taiwan Province of China.
Since Li Shizhen's "Compendium of Materia Medica" manuscripts were published in 1593, nearly 400 years ago, Maifan Stone has been lost in China. No one has explored the stone resources of Maifan Stone, and no one has conducted in-depth research on Maifan Stone.
In 1978, Japan set off the heat of medical stone, and mineral medicine scientists also began an in-depth study of medical stone. At that time, a Japanese company bought hundreds of kilograms of rice sandstone Yanshanian granite weathered sand in Panxian County, Tianjin, China, at a price of RMB 400/ton. This situation did not attract people's attention at the time. In 1983, a visiting scholar from the Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences collected a Japanese medical stone specimen, Maifan Stone, from a Japanese friend, and began research on medical stone. At the end of March 1984, starting from the geological survey, I studied the medical stone resources in my domestic Mongolian and Liaoning Fuxin. On the basis of a large number of geological surveys and experimental research, the Chinese medicine stone, "Fuxin Maifan Stone" was officially named. After the samples were sent to Japan, they were considered as “the world's rare medicine stones” by relevant experts' appraisal and test analysis. The medical stone samples were exhibited for the first time at the technology new product experience exchange meeting held in Beijing in April 1985. In May of the same year, the medical stone samples were exhibited at the Canton Fair, accompanied by the study report of the medical stone and the English manual, which attracted great attention from scholars at home and abroad. This opened a new chapter in the study of the current medical stone in China. . At present, countries and regions with deeper research on medical stone mainly include Japan, the United States, and South Korea. The research topic is mainly to explore the effect and mechanism of medical stone, how to extract the active ingredients of medical stone (ie sapro technology) and to explore the application field. In these aspects, more research is done in Japan, they use wheat. Rice stone is used as mineral water for drinking and bathing, and plants are raised. Use rice stone powder for aquatic preservation, refrigerator deodorant, water purification, etc. However, due to lack of resources, they now hope to import Chinese medical stone. Research in the United States mainly uses athlete's stone water to make athlete drinks.
In China, the current research on the medical stone is booming. Medical stone is a mineral stone. It has aroused great interest from geologists and medicine. In fact, only the joint efforts of geologists and medical scientists and their related discipline experts can make this ancient mineral stone play its due role for human health and longevity.
In addition to the research on the above topics, the Shenyang Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and the medical colleges and universities have matured the research on the deep processing technology (Maifanshijing) for the extraction of active ingredients from medical stone. This technology and its products, Maifanjing, are highly valued by relevant Japanese experts. They believe that the "Maifanshi" technology we have studied has surpassed the "sapro" technology of Japanese and American medical stone. This scientific research and technology achievement has yet to be reported for scientific research patents.
