On the morning of January 15, Yuchai took another significant step forward by laying the foundation for the third phase of the 6M series heavy-duty diesel engine block machining production line. This marks a crucial milestone in Yuchai's efforts to achieve its 2008 strategic goals. Since 2003, the company has successfully launched its first and second major engineering projects, establishing some of the most advanced processing and testing production lines for heavy-duty diesel engines in China. The 6M diesel engine has been widely applied in various heavy-duty vehicles, including road tractors, trucks, cement mixers, and even marine and power generation applications. In 2007, Yuchai achieved a production and sales volume of 20,000 units of the 6M engine, with significant exports to countries such as Russia and Vietnam, demonstrating strong market potential. The newly launched third-phase production line for the 6M cylinder block is part of Yuchai's broader heavy machinery development plan. With a total investment of 145 million yuan, the facility spans 8,892 square meters and is located within the Yuchai branch’s production area, adjacent to the heavy machinery installation and testing plant. This expansion is expected to be fully operational by December 2008. Once completed, it will establish a high-performance, high-quality, low-cost, and reliable specialized production line for the 6M diesel engine, aligning with global industry standards and significantly boosting Yuchai's production capacity. This will better meet the growing demands of the market and support the company’s long-term strategic growth. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Jin Xiangjun of Yulin emphasized the local government's commitment to creating a more favorable business environment and providing better services to support Yuchai’s development. Through the "Decision on Implementing the Strategy of Strong Chai Xingyu," the city aims to promote industrial growth and drive Yulin’s economic development. The completion of this third-phase project is seen as a key step in helping Yuchai expand its capabilities and solidify its position in the global diesel engine market.
