Bunting’s Towable Electromagnetic Sweepers Were Custom-Built for an Indonesian Airport
These sweepers are designed to attach easily to the rear of a vehicle, such as a service truck or SUV. Equipped with two sturdy wheels and a simple tow hitch, they provide a secure and efficient way to clear metal debris. Operators can control the magnet from inside the vehicle, allowing them to activate or deactivate it as needed for quick release of collected materials.
Designed for outdoor use, these sweepers operate at speeds between 5 and 6 mph. They come in various widths, from 1200mm to 2440mm, and can be customized to fit specific site requirements. The three units supplied to Indonesia feature a 2440mm magnetic width and weigh around 1500 kg each.
Each unit is powered by a 220VAC generator and a Honda gasoline engine housed within a protective frame. The control panel includes a start/stop button with auto-reverse functionality, enabling smooth operation. A rotating flash beacon indicates the magnet’s status, enhancing visibility and safety during use.
