Here’s a quick update on the fire operations at the Lyons Box alarm on Maple Avenue this Sunday. I arrived a bit late and didn’t get much more than what I’m about to share. There were four engine companies working in front of the fire station on Maple Avenue. Lyons Engine 1312 was directly in front, with McCook Engine 1411 positioned just to the north of them. To the south of 1312, Riverside Truck 1629 was operating, and Bedford Park Truck 709 was set up further south. Lyons Engine 1316 had a hydrant located at the corner of Maple and 41st Place. From there, they laid a long supply line to the Cermak Quarry, where Berwyn Engine 903 was drafting water from a pond. Forest View Engine 813 was originally stationed there but wasn’t pumping. Finally, Lyons Engine 1311 had a hydrant at the intersection of Joliet Road and Elm Avenue, which was over two blocks south of the fire building.
