Autodesk Construction Cloud Global Focus Expands with Workflows that Support ISO 19650

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 2, 2021 – Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) today announced the launch of a suite of new workflows designed to enhance construction firms' ability to adhere to ISO 19650 standards. These workflows are part of Autodesk Construction Cloud and aim to streamline project information management, offering tools to define structured and standardized processes for publishing, sharing, and storing data. Customers using Autodesk Build, Autodesk BIM Collaborate, BIM Collaborate Pro, Autodesk Takeoff, and Autodesk Docs can now opt to primarily store their project data in Europe, fulfilling a common customer request. ISO 19650 was created to establish a universal framework for managing construction information, ensuring consistency in naming conventions and data handling practices. This standardization fosters collaboration and improves operational efficiency, making data management more secure and predictable. Gert-Jan Ditsel, BIM Manager at Dura Vermeer, noted, "Without a standardized document control process, teams waste significant time searching for the latest information. A standardized approach is essential for many projects in Europe and benefits all stakeholders involved, from owners to contractors and architects. The new workflows in Autodesk Construction Cloud provide us with the necessary tools to comply with ISO 19650 standards, maintain consistent naming conventions, and improve overall collaboration." The newly introduced workflows within Autodesk Construction Cloud allow teams to configure, organize, and distribute project documents effectively. Key features include: - **Naming Standard Preview and Enforcement:** Teams can create and enforce naming standards across project files, ensuring alignment with predefined conventions. - **Validation Tools:** Users can automate file uploads and verify compliance with naming standards to meet ISO 19650 requirements. - **Holding Area Feature:** Non-compliant files are automatically moved to a holding area, allowing teams to address inconsistencies without halting the upload process. - **Integration Enhancements:** Native integrations with Revit, AutoCAD, and Desktop Connector enable seamless enforcement of standards throughout various project stages. Additionally, Autodesk now offers customers the choice to primarily store their project data in Europe when using Autodesk Build, Autodesk BIM Collaborate, BIM Collaborate Pro, Autodesk Takeoff, and Autodesk Docs. This option addresses both ISO 19650 compliance and the preference for regional data storage, giving construction teams a competitive edge during the bidding process. Ilai Rotbaein, senior director of research and development at Autodesk Construction Solutions, emphasized, "The introduction of ISO 19650 provides our industry with a unified language for discussing and understanding data. While these standards can be challenging to implement, they are crucial for intelligent project data management. Offering workflows that support ISO 19650 and enabling regional data storage in Europe is part of our ongoing commitment to empower construction teams globally." In further news, Autodesk will soon release Autodesk Docs as a standalone subscription option. Previously bundled with Autodesk Construction Cloud and the AEC Collection, Autodesk Docs will now be available independently, allowing teams to harness its centralized data management capabilities as a standalone solution. Autodesk continues to innovate, providing tools that empower creators across industries. Whether designing cars, buildings, smartphones, or films, Autodesk's software empowers users to bring their visions to life. For more information, visit autodesk.com or follow @autodesk.
