"Embedding sustainability into our core finance operations allows us to allocate resources strategically towards innovations addressing global challenges." As the Chief Sustainability Officer, Speicher oversees the formulation and execution of Autodesk’s sustainability and impact strategies, establishing metrics and reports, and spearheading cross-industry initiatives aimed at enhancing customer sustainability capabilities. He continues to lead the Autodesk Foundation, a philanthropic entity committed to advancing groundbreaking solutions for critical social and environmental issues. Additionally, Speicher chairs the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Steering Committee, ensuring that Autodesk evaluates and addresses pertinent external ESG priorities such as materiality assessments, measurements, management, and disclosures. Autodesk customers, spanning sectors like housing and infrastructure, product manufacturing, and entertainment, face increasing demands to innovate more efficiently, sustainably, and affordably. However, many enterprises still rely on outdated tools and methods, struggling to adapt to an increasingly digital and AI-driven world. By integrating data, insights, and automation through connected workflows, Autodesk’s Design and Make Platforms minimize rework and waste, delivering more eco-friendly results and reduced emissions. "Autodesk operates at the intersection of some of the most imaginative and influential industries globally," noted Speicher. "Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed a significant shift in market trends favoring sustainable practices, and Autodesk is pioneering these changes. Our goal is to democratize access to advanced technologies and data for industries with high carbon footprints because we believe this approach offers the greatest potential to mitigate the effects of climate change."
