Chicago Executive Airport – Aircraft Emergency 12/5/18
1967 Cessna 310N with unlocked front landing gear
Prospect Heights and Wheeling Fire Departments
 
The aircraft, which had two people on board, circled for about 90 minutes to burn off excess fuel before making a safe landing. The pilot handled the situation exceptionally well, managing to land the plane without any injuries. There was only minor damage to the airframe. Local fire departments from Prospect Heights and Wheeling were on standby as a precaution, and their presence showed the level of preparedness in such emergencies.
