Building and Infrastructure Industry Customers Surge to Autodesk in Fourth Quarter

Public Company Information: NASDAQ: ADSK "We are working tirelessly to provide the tools and services that enable our customers to radically improve how buildings and infrastructure are designed and built, and our customers are clearly responding." SAN FRANCISCO – (BUSINESS WIRE) – In the fiscal quarter ended January 31, Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) closed dozens of new and expanded deals in the architecture, engineering, construction, and infrastructure industries. As adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) continues to grow worldwide, more firms in the building and infrastructure sectors are turning to Autodesk’s software solutions. In the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, Autodesk delivered a strong fourth quarter, closing out a record year with revenue from its AEC product suites rising 32% year-over-year. The company secured a significant number of multi-million-dollar transactions, including its largest deal ever. Autodesk BIM 360, a cloud and mobile platform for construction management and jobsite execution, saw particularly strong adoption and has become one of the fastest-growing products in the company's history. "As architecture firms, contractors, and engineering companies continue to unlock the full potential of BIM, they're seeing major improvements in productivity, reduced errors, and lower costs," said Amar Hanspal, Senior Vice President of Autodesk’s Information Modeling and Platform Group. "Our cloud and mobile services are especially popular because they make BIM accessible anywhere, anytime — whether you're in the office or on the jobsite." New and expanded deals with leading architecture practices, engineering firms, contractors, and asset owners include AECOM, Black & Veatch Corporation, China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), Fluor, HDR Engineering, Qatar Rail, and PCL Construction, among others. Turner Construction Company, one of North America’s largest construction firms, has benefited significantly from Autodesk’s BIM solutions, particularly through the use of BIM 360 on the Oakland International Airport renovation project. “Autodesk BIM 360 Glue isn’t just about visualization,” said Lincoln Wood of Turner Construction. “It supports real-time collaboration and has improved our efficiency. The mobile app is the next step in field coordination and communication. Contractors can now leverage this technology in exciting and powerful ways.” In January, the European Union issued a directive urging member states to adopt BIM for public works projects. This follows similar mandates in countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Contractors have now become the fastest-growing adopters of BIM. According to the 2014 McGraw Hill Construction Smart Market Report, contractors expect BIM to be used in 50% more of their work over the next two years. “There are strong global trends supporting BIM, and Autodesk is at the forefront of this transformation,” said Hanspal. “We’re committed to delivering the tools and services that help our customers design and build better, and our customers are clearly responding.” About Autodesk Autodesk empowers people to imagine, design, and create a better world.
