NEW YORK CITY (CGI ANNUAL MEETING) — At this week’s Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting, Autodesk is set to unveil its new *Technology Impact* program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at supporting nonprofits that use design as a force for good. The program will provide free access to high-end design software to select organizations working on global challenges. In its first year, Autodesk has pledged $7.5 million in software donations.
“This program is all about empowering nonprofits with the tools they need to make a real difference,†said John Cary, executive director of the Autodesk Foundation. “We aim to support at least 500 organizations in the first year, helping them build hospitals, schools, affordable housing, and even life-saving medical devices. These groups are using design to drive meaningful change around the world.â€
Autodesk has long been committed to making its technology accessible to those who are shaping a better future. Through this new initiative, eligible nonprofits will receive two licenses of top-tier design software, including the Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium, Building Design Suite Premium, Infrastructure Design Suite Premium, and Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate. Organizations can apply online at [www.autodesk.com/technologyimpact](http://www.autodesk.com/technologyimpact).
One of the first recipients of the program is MASS Design Group, a Boston-based nonprofit known for its award-winning Butaro Hospital in Rwanda. Alan Ricks, co-founder and COO, shared how the tools have transformed their work: “With Autodesk’s advanced 3D design software, we can better communicate our vision to local builders and communities. It helps us create structures that truly reflect the environment and culture where they’re built. We believe every place has resources—it's just a matter of finding the right way to use them.â€
Autodesk empowers people to imagine, design, and create a better world. From architects and engineers to artists, students, and hobbyists, the company’s software is used globally to solve complex problems and inspire innovation.
