It took me three days to go through all the photos, but I believe it was well worth the effort. The first image gives a great aerial view of the burning building. Early reports mentioned heavy fire in the basement, and I think an interior attack was attempted, but the conditions were too dangerous, so they had to pull out quickly. The fire had already spread throughout the entire structure by that point. There were also some serious exposure issues. They called for the high-expansion foam unit, but by the time it arrived, the fire was too far along.
So, the response was mainly an outside attack, using two tower ladders, two snorkels, a deluge unit, hand lines, and even the hose wagon 612 on the north side. I also managed to capture a shot of the new battery rig, 6-3-9. I experimented a bit with black-and-white images, and I was really happy with how they turned out. The photos are in chronological order, and when paired with my video, they give a clear sense of how the fire progressed over time.
