Metro North Emergency Support Services Inc. (M.N.E.S.S. Inc.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting emergency responders and victims during critical incidents. As a 501(c)(3) charity, your donations are fully tax-deductible. We provide essential services such as food, drinks, and rest areas for firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and other first responders at emergency scenes across the northern suburbs of Cook, Lake, and McHenry Counties in Illinois.
Our mission includes offering canteen-rehab services during long-running emergencies, line-of-duty deaths, and memorial events. We operate two canteen-rehab vehicles and a portable toilet trailer, all staffed by volunteers who respond 24/7. These units are equipped with hot and cold beverages, snacks, and meals to keep emergency personnel energized and hydrated.
We also support civilian victims of fires and disasters, ensuring they receive necessary care. Our services extend to official line-of-duty death ceremonies, where we provide food and drink to families and colleagues. With our portable restroom unit, we help maintain dignity and privacy for responders in challenging situations.
M.N.E.S.S. Inc. was formed after the previous organization, Metropolitan Emergency Support Services, ceased operations. We now have a new leadership team with decades of experience in emergency support. We rely on community donations and volunteer efforts to continue our vital work.
