Product Design & Manufacturing Collection gets massive additions--at no additional cost

Over the years, I've spent countless hours speaking with manufacturers across various industries, from automotive and industrial machinery to consumer goods. One trend has become increasingly evident: manufacturers are seeking a simpler, more cohesive software experience. They want tools that communicate seamlessly with one another, enabling product designers to effortlessly pass 3D models to engineers for simulation and testing, while engineers can then hand off finalized designs to the production team for machining setup. Consider a company like Briggs Automotive Company (BAC), based in the UK, which must transform their stunning vehicle concepts into practical engineering designs capable of digital simulation to ensure performance and production on CNC machining centers. To achieve this efficiently, they need to eliminate the constant file translations and repairs typical of traditional workflows, along with the risks associated with change management. Recognizing this clear demand, we're making a significant update to what was previously known as our Product Design Collection. Starting now, we're integrating simulation and CAM capabilities into the already robust suite of design and engineering tools. As a result, we're renaming it the Product Design **& Manufacturing** Collection. Specifically, we're introducing world-class simulation software, Nastran In-CAD, and advanced CAM software, Autodesk HSM, to the collection. Previously, these two tools would have cost over $7,000 annually combined. However, we firmly believe in the benefits of merging design, engineering, and manufacturing, so we're adding them at no extra charge. The annual subscription remains at just $2,460 in the U.S. Starting this week, the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection offers all the professional-grade tools necessary for any product development team to move from design and engineering straight through to production. It includes integrated 2D and 3D CAD, CAE, and CAM applications for comprehensive product development and manufacturing planning. Another perspective on the updated Collection is that it provides the most advanced Inventor experience we’ve ever delivered. The professional-grade modeling and design automation tools of Inventor Professional are now coupled with simulation, 5-axis CAM, and factory planning and optimization tools—all fully integrated into the Inventor workflow. Subscribers gain access to a forward-thinking toolkit. While not every update will be as substantial as this one, we remain committed to continuous improvements, incorporating cutting-edge technologies like our cloud-based Fusion 360 product innovation platform and emerging innovations such as generative design. You’ll still receive AutoCAD, Navisworks, Vault, ReCap Pro, 3ds Max, Factory Design Utilities, and more. In essence, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, but the individual components are exceptional in their own right. These workflows expand Inventor beyond its conventional design focus, delving into the realm of manufacturing and helping customers achieve more. Don't just take my word for it—here's what Ian Briggs, Co-Founder and Design Director of British automaker BAC, had to say: "We extensively utilize the Autodesk manufacturing software suite throughout our entire product development process—whether it’s reality capture, design, engineering, fabrication, visualization, or anything else. The fact that Autodesk is adding simulation and CAM to the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection at no additional cost is a massive advantage for us and any manufacturer looking for a complete, integrated set of software tools." The Product Design & Manufacturing Collection is available worldwide, with the included software available in more than eight languages, including English, German, Japanese, French, Chinese, and others.
