Chip inductor: subvert the traditional circuit design

University of California, Berkeley (UCBerkeley) Scientists have found a representation that drive chip inductor (on-chipinductor) new methods of technological advances will help the birth of a new generation of miniature radio frequency (RF) electronics and wireless communications system design.

The inductor is a passive component on the circuit that is categorized as "beyond Moore's Law" and therefore incorporates non-digitizing features such as RF and MEMS that will not shrink due to Moore's Law.

Chip inductor architectures require a large area because of the length, number of turns, thickness and space required between their metal traces for proper inductance and performance. However, for large area requirements, inductance loss may be caused by parasitic effects between the rotating coil and the semiconductor substrate.
