General Korea recalls Damas and Labo

General Motors Korea, through its subsidiary Daewoo Motor Co., has recently announced a major recall of over 8,000 small commercial vehicles due to potential engine issues. The affected models include 6,781 units of the Damas and 1,329 units of the Labo. These vehicles were manufactured between April 1, 2002, and December 6, 2002, and are powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The recall was initiated after the company identified a defect in the LPG switch, which could cause the engine to misfire or shut off unexpectedly, posing a safety risk to drivers. To address the issue, Daewoo Motor Co. is offering free replacement parts at their service centers across South Korea. Vehicle owners are encouraged to contact their local dealership to schedule a repair. It's worth noting that these models were exclusively sold within South Korea, and the recall does not affect any other markets. As one of the country’s top three automotive manufacturers, General Motors Daewoo holds a significant share of the domestic market, with a 9.7% presence. This recall highlights the company's commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of its products, even years after they have been sold.
