General Korea recalls Damas and Labo

General Motors Korea, through its subsidiary Daewoo Motor Co., has recently announced a recall of over 8,000 small commercial vehicles due to potential engine issues. The affected models include 6,781 units of the Damas and 1,329 units of the Labo. The recall specifically targets vehicles equipped with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) engines manufactured between April 1, 2002, and December 6, 2002. The issue stems from a faulty LPG switch, which may cause the engine to misfire or shut off unexpectedly, posing a safety risk to drivers. In response, Daewoo is offering free replacement parts at its service centers for affected vehicle owners. This recall is limited to South Korea, where these models were exclusively sold. As one of the country's leading automakers, General Motors Daewoo holds a 9.7% share of the domestic market and ranks as the third-largest automotive company in South Korea. The company continues to emphasize customer safety and quality, ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to address the issue promptly. Owners are encouraged to contact their local service center as soon as possible to schedule the free repair.
