Threaded flange
Threaded Flanges are also known as screwed flange and feature internal threads that fit onto pipes with matching male threads. This type of connection is quick and simple but not suitable for high pressure or temperature applications. They are commonly used in utility services like air and water systems.
Blind Flanges
A blind flange is a flat disc with bolt holes used to close off the end of a pipe or isolate a section of piping. It can also serve as a manhole cover on vessels. These flanges are essential in situations where the piping needs to be sealed without connecting to another component.
Slip on flanges
Slip-On flanges have a hole that matches the outer diameter of the pipe, allowing it to pass through. These flanges are placed over the pipe and welded from both inside and outside. They are ideal for low-pressure and temperature applications and are available in large sizes for connecting big bore piping to storage tanks. Typically forged, they may also be fabricated from plates without a hub.
Weld neck flange
Weld Neck flanges are the most widely used in process piping due to their high joint integrity achieved by butt-welding with a pipe. They are designed for high-pressure and high-temperature applications, making them robust and durable, though more expensive than other types of flanges.
