Bosch sales of 51.4 billion euros in 2011

The Bosch Group announced that its 2011 sales were 51.4 billion euros (about 68 billion US dollars), an increase of 8.8%.

In 2011, Bosch achieved sales growth in all major regional markets, with sales in Europe up 9.5% year-on-year to 30 billion euros (about 39.7 billion U.S. dollars); sales in the Asia Pacific region increased 10% year-on-year to 12 billion euros (15.9 billion U.S. dollars); sales in the United States increased by 7% to 9 billion euros (about 11.9 billion U.S. dollars).

The three major businesses of the Bosch Group achieved growth in 2011, with sales of automotive technology up 8% to 30 billion euros (about 39.7 billion U.S. dollars) year-on-year, and industrial technology sales up 20% year-on-year to 8 billion euros (about 10.6 billion U.S. dollars); sales of consumer goods and construction engineering technology business increased by 4.3% year-on-year to 13 billion euros (17.2 billion U.S. dollars).

In 2011, Bosch Group increased the number of employees worldwide by 20,000, including 10,300 new employees in Europe; 8,200 employees in the Asia-Pacific region; and 1,200 new employees in North America. As of January 1, 2012, Bosch had a total of 303,000 employees worldwide, which exceeded 300,000 for the first time.
